Information about the Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2012  
The Association of State Floodplain Managers have compiled many different publications dealing with the changes to the National Flood Insurance Program with the passage of Biggert-Waters in 2012 (commonly referred to as BW12).

Vermont Law School's 2009 document: Preparing for the Next Flood: Vermont's Floodplain Management.   This was a document that helped to identify additional measures that communities can take to better protect them and their citizens in future floods.  Included in this document is:
  • the roles and responsibility in preventing flood damages and harm;
  • protecting property rights and reducing liability; and
  • floodplain management strategies and tools
